Assessments I use
Each assessment combines internationally recognised instruments, chosen based on what you need to understand.
Neurodevelopmental assessment (ASD and ADHD)
Diagnostic assessments for autism and ADHD using internationally recognised instruments, ADOS-2 and ADI-R, complemented with a neuropsychological assessment for a complete profile, not just a label.
- ADOS-2
- Toddler Module
- ADI-R
- Neuropsychological assessment
View detailsHide details
I carry out diagnostic assessments for Autism Spectrum Disorder using internationally recognised instruments: ADOS-2 (structured observation) and ADI-R (diagnostic interview with the family), both with accredited training. I complement these with a neuropsychological assessment of attention, memory, language and executive function, for a complete profile rather than just a label.
ADOS-2
- What it is
- Standardised, semi-structured observation.
- What it explores
- Communication, social interaction, play/imagination, and restricted and repetitive behaviours.
- How it works
- One of several modules is used depending on the person's age and language level, including the Toddler Module for young children (12-30 months) and Module 4 for adults with fluent speech.
- Who it's for
- Children, adolescents and adults with suspected autism.
- Approximate duration
- [PENDING]
- Format
- In person
ADI-R
- What it is
- Semi-structured diagnostic interview.
- What it explores
- Developmental history and behaviour in the areas characteristic of autism.
- How it works
- Conducted with the mother, father or primary caregiver, covering early development and current behaviour. For adults, it's adapted based on the information available about childhood.
- Who it's for
- Family members or caregivers of the person being assessed.
- Approximate duration
- [PENDING]
Neuropsychological assessment
- What it is
- Standardised tests of attention, memory, language and executive function.
- What it explores
- Cognitive functions, attention, memory, language, executive functions, intelligence, perceptual skills and motor skills, plus any other area the referral calls for.
- How it works
- First, we look at what each client needs to have assessed. Based on that, I put together a tailored battery of tests, which we carry out over several sessions. At the end, we go over the results together in a feedback session.
- Who it's for
- People being assessed for suspected ASD or ADHD.
- Approximate duration
- Between 5 and 6 sessions, depending on each client's level of fatigue.
Personality and psychological functioning assessment
The Rorschach assessment explores how a person perceives and organises their experience, manages their emotions, and relates to others.
- Rorschach
- Exner Comprehensive System
- Self-knowledge
- Differential diagnosis
View detailsHide details
The Rorschach assessment explores how a person perceives and organises their experience, manages their emotions, and relates to others. I have specialised training in its administration and interpretation according to the Exner Comprehensive System. It's a valuable tool in processes of self-knowledge, therapeutic orientation and differential diagnosis.
Rorschach
- What it is
- 10 inkblot cards and an open-ended prompt.
- What it explores
- Perception, thinking, affect, self-perception and interpersonal relationships.
- How it works
- A response phase and an inquiry phase; then coding and interpretation according to the Exner Comprehensive System.
- What it's used for
- Processes of self-knowledge, therapeutic orientation and differential diagnosis.
- Approximate duration
- One interview session + one assessment session + one feedback session.

They look alike, but they're not the same
Burnout, ADHD or autism: how are they alike, and how aren't they?
Fatigue
Exhaustion that doesn't improve with normal rest; tied to work.
Attention
Difficulty concentrating that worsens over time with sustained stress.
Social life
You pull away from people because you have no energy left, not because you don't want to.
Since when
Usually appears after a prolonged period of overload.
Fatigue
Exhaustion from the extra effort of sustaining attention and staying organised.
Attention
Hard to sustain on tasks that don't interest you, even with strong focus on the ones that do.
Social life
Can be hard to follow long conversations or remember commitments.
Since when
Usually present since childhood, even if it's more noticeable as an adult.
Fatigue
Exhaustion from the effort of "translating" social and sensory input all day.
Attention
Strong focus on areas of interest; difficulty shifting attention elsewhere.
Social life
Preference for a few deep relationships; social noise is more tiring than the content itself.
Since when
A lifelong way of functioning, even if it's identified later in life.
They can look alike from the outside. That's why a rigorous assessment matters before drawing conclusions.
FAQ
Before you book
Is the report officially valid?
Yes, in Spain. Outside Spain, the report may not be automatically recognised by other healthcare systems. It's worth confirming this if you plan to use it in another country.
Can it all be done online?
Not entirely: the ADOS-2 observation and part of the testing are done in person in Barcelona. The rest of the process (call, interview, questionnaires, feedback) can be online.
How is it different from an online test?
An online test is only indicative. A neuropsychological assessment combines a clinical interview, standardised tests and direct observation, interpreted by a professional, and ends in a diagnostic report.
What if the result is negative?
That's also a valuable answer: it helps rule out hypotheses and points to the next step.
